Workshop on the "Emerging Issues in the Ethiopian Federal System"

One aspect that was also under discussion is associated with the set-up of the existing federal system. While some actors advocate for reforming the existing arrangement, others argue for maintaining the system and on implementing the constitutional provision to the letter. FES, in collaboration with the Center For Federal and Governance Studies (CFGS) of AAU, in continuation of a series of workshops, organized another half day workshop with two prominent scholars specializing on the constitutional aspect of federalism and the fiscal decentralization enshrined therein deliberated on the emerging issues associated with the current federal system in the country.

The workshop was attended by government official, researchers, and representatives of different CSOs.
