Round Table Discussion on Transitional Justice – AHRE

At a time when the implementation of transitional justice is being considered by the Ethiopian government in parallel with an inclusive national dialogue, FES in collaboration with AHRE organized a round table discussion on the existing divergent views regarding the conceptual and theoretical underpinning of Transitional Justice, using AU’s Transitional Justice policy as a basis.

The discussion also included experience sharing by Ethiopian Human Rights Commission on the work that they have been doing which mainly focuses on consultations with stakeholders with a view to informing and creating awareness on what transitional justice means, how potential transitional justice projects might look like and why the redressing of past human right violations is so important.
